The development of this sustainability strategy has not only given us a greater understanding of our environmental impacts throughout our supply chain, but also has provided the knowledge we need to reach our decarbonisation goals.

GreenPlus Project Objectives

The overall objective of this project was to develop a sustainability strategy that is aligned to best available science and minimises our impact on the planet throughout our supply chain. The strategy development process included measuring the current state of play in terms of environmental impact and full scope carbon emissions, and building on the energy and environmental management processes already in place including ISO 50001, ISO14001, and Origin Green. A further target was to identify and set short, medium, and long term sustainability and carbon reduction targets that are based on best available science, while also putting in place a robust governance structure ensuring these targets are achieved.

Key Challenges

The key challenges of this project were

  1. Gathering and accessing the data required to calculate the GHG Inventory in alignment with ISO 14064-1:2018.
  2. Setting suitably ambitious sustainability targets that follow the triple bottom line approach of People, Planet, Prosperity.
Outcomes

The key outcomes of this project are:

  1. A better understanding of Aurivo’s environmental impacts throughout its supply chain.
  2. The identification of gaps in the data required to measure full scope emissions and the development of a data collection plan to ensure continued improvment in the data collected and emissions calculations.
  3. A sustainability strategy with short, medium, and long term targets out to 2030, 2040, & 2050 and a robust governance structure to ensure continued progress is made towards these targets.
