Agile-Lean Ireland 2018 Conference

We are a community led, non-profit conference, comprised of volunteers from our local Agile meetups and user groups, dedicated to spreading learning in Agile. As a conference, our goal is to help spread knowledge for Agile/Lean Coaches, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Leaders and Developers. On Thursday, April 26th 2018, our community will take over Croke Park, Dublin’s most historic venue, for our 2nd conference. This full-day event will feature the cream of International and Irish speakers, with a mix of regular talks, workshops, open space and lightning talks.

Keynote Speaker #1: Henrik Kniberg

Henrik Kniberg is an Agile/Lean coach at Crisp in Stockholm. He has spent the past few years working primarily with Lego and Spotify. He enjoys helping companies succeed with both the technical and human sides of software development. During the past 15 years he has been CTO of 3 Swedish IT companies and helped many more get started with Agile and Lean software development.

Henrik is former board member of the Agile Alliance and works regularly with Mary Poppendieck, Jeff Sutherland, and other thought leaders. He is the author of “Scrum and XP from the Trenches” and “­Kanban and Scrum, making the most of both” and “Lean from the Trenches“. These books are available in over 12 languages, have over 500,000 readers, and are used as primary guide to Agile and Lean software development by hundreds of companies worldwide.­ Henrik also created the viral animated videos “Agile Product Ownership in a Nutshell” and “Spotify Engineering Culture“.

Keynote Speaker #2: Jeff Gothelf

Jeff Gothelf is a designer & Agile practitioner. He is a leading voice on the topics of Agile UX & Lean UX and a highly sought-after international speaker. He is Principal in Neo’s New York City office. Previously, Jeff has led teams at TheLadders, Publicis Modem, WebTrends, Fidelity, & AOL.

In 2013, Jeff published his first book, Lean UX: Applying lean principles to improve user experience (O’Reilly). In 2016 I published the 2nd edition of Lean UX and a new business book called Sense & Respond (Harvard Business Press)..

His work today mainly focuses on building and training evidence-based, customer-centered executive & product teams. These teams often utilize lean principles and agile software development.

Speaker #3: Nigel Baker

Nigel is a Certified Scrum Trainer – one of only a few in the UK. He has been working with Agile techniques for over 12 years and was one of the Lead Agile Consultants for BT – Who undertook the largest Agile transformation in the world, at that time.

Nigel’s background includes being a software developer in traditional and Scrum teams before moving into Project Management and ScrumMaster roles on many projects across the IT sector. Nigel has been coaching and training Scrum and Agile techniques for the last decade and is regarded as one of the leading experts in training in this industry.
