The World Intellectual Property Organization has launched a new website on IP Policies for Universities & Research Institutions, together with the IP policies database. With these new resources, WIPO aims to support universities and research institutions in disseminating the knowledge they generate and to have that knowledge used in the economic sector.

An intellectual property policy is the cornerstone of innovation and creativity for universities and public research institutions (PRIs). It provides structure, predictability, and a framework for talented minds to do what they do best: innovate.
