The Offshore Renewable Energy Development Plan (OREDP), published in February 2014, identifies the opportunity for the sustainable development of Ireland’s abundant offshore renewable energy resources. It sets out key principles, policy actions and enablers for delivery of Ireland’s significant potential in this area. The OREDP and its implementation is overseen by a Steering Group established by the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment.

As part of a mid-term review of the OREDP, focussed on progress to date and challenges arising, a draft document is now being launched for public consultation. Your views and feedback are sought on this draft consultation document. Submissions should address the questions listed after each OREDP action and should be e-mailed to or posted to
