The European Commission is to launch a new tool to help cities assess their environmental performance. The Urban Environmental Self-Assessment Green City Tool will allow cities to compare their performance with others, receive guidance on key environmental topics and put themselves on the Green Map. The Green City Tool can be used by everyone, city representatives and residents alike, who want to make their city greener. The assessment is based on the same 12 environmental indicators as the European Green Capital Award and will help participating cities and individuals with benchmarking and monitoring.
The Urban Environmental Self-Assessment Tool is currently at advanced testing stage and welcomes input on how to improve it – so why not try it out and submit your feedback – Green City tool weblink
