John Sisk & Son (“Sisk”), Ireland’s leading provider of construction services with extensive operations across Ireland, the United Kingdom and mainland Europe, has announced the winners of its inaugural Supply Chain Awards for 2017.

Sisk spent a total of €850m with its supply chain in 2017 while the construction business also confirmed it has a total of 7,000 approved and active suppliers on its records (4,000 in Ireland and 3,000 in the UK).

Commenting after the ceremony, Stephen Bowcott, CEO, John Sisk & Son, said: “The inaugural Sisk Supply Chain Awards for 2017 was a great success. The event was a fantastic opportunity to further build on the strong relationships we have with our Supply Chain partners across our businessand to recognise and acknowledge the excellent performance, commitment and dedication shown by our supply chain partners across Sisk projects. The Sisk Supply Chain Awards is one of the key initiatives that the business is undertaking towards delivering effective, lasting and mutually beneficial partnerships with our key stakeholders. On behalf of Sisk, I would like to congratulate all the winners and thank them for their support this year.”

The inaugural awards ceremony last night (Thursday 30 November) in Dublin was attended by approx. 500 people and raised money for homelessness charities Focus Ireland and Shelter UK with donations from guests and the company. Irish comedian Barry Murphy, famously known for his appearances on Après Match, was Master of Ceremonies.

Shortlisted subcontractors and suppliers were nominated by each of Sisk’s business units and procurement respectively. Each business Unit then selected its ‘Best Subcontractor of the Year’ from the proposed shortlist following a thorough evaluation process, with the winners announced at a ceremony last night (Thursday) in the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road.
