Rob’s extensive experience in strategic planning makes him well-suited to discuss Hoshin Kanri, a method for ensuring that the strategic goals of a company drive progress and action at every level within that company. His insights into aligning corporate goals with business operations and aligning the needs of internal and external stakeholders – as well as his hands-on experience with Toyota’s strategic initiatives – will provide valuable perspectives on the implementation and benefits of Hoshin Kanri.
About Rob Gorton:
Rob Gorton is Senior Manager of Corporate Planning & External Affairs at Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd.
Rob joined TMUK in January 2006 and his role involves aligning TMUK’s mid-term strategy with corporate goals and business operations, focusing TMUK’s transition to a mobility company. He has been instrumental in the development of the Mid-Term Business Plan, which aims to enhance manufacturing capabilities and prepare for a zero-emission vehicle future. He is chair of the Automotive Council’s working group on International Competitiveness, and locally chairs Derby’s Visitor Economy Development Board and is vice-chair of Derby Partnership Board.
