‘Enterprise Excellence – Lean in Ireland, Dundalk event took place on Tuesday 13th June hosted by IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland in the Crowne Plaza Dundalk. 3 Lean Case Studies were presented.
Ciaran O’Rourke, Production Manager, Anord Control Systems Ltd gave an insight into the history of the company which has their HQ in Dundalk. They engage in high mix, low volume project based manufacturing. He said that lean is not about cutting jobs, it’s about continuous improvement. Facts not opinions.
Mick Guinee, Managing Director, Ei Electronics also gave an insight into the history of the company. He said that the company is 100% Irish owned and is number 1 in Europe for Electronic Life Safety products such as smoke alarms. He spoke about how the use of Kaizen has helped them achieve world class manufacturing production cells.
Margarita Tully, Production Manager, Rottapharm Ireland (Mylan) spoke about the challenges of working in a very competitive marketplace. The company ships to 67 markets around the world and was awarded the silver medal for Shingo in 2016.’
