The health and Safety Authority would like to remind chemical exporters and importers that they may have duties under Regulation (EU) No 649/2012, as amended. These Regulations place obligations on exporters and importers of certain hazardous chemicals when exporting to or from non-EU countries.  The Regulations allow countries to monitor and control the export and import of certain hazardous chemicals. Some chemicals require Prior Informed Consent (PIC) before the export can proceed. If you export or import chemicals to or from outside the EU and think you may be affected, please check ECHA’s searchable webpage for PIC chemicals and refer to our Export Import Information Sheet for further details.
