Macra na Feirme, Dairygold, Teagasc, Enterprise Ireland and Trinity College Dublin are seeking expressions of interest from dairy farmers with an interest in implementing Lean principles on their farms.

The organisations are collectively applying to the Department of Agriculture, Food & Marine for funding through the European Innovation Partnership scheme to implement Lean initially on 31 dairy farms during phase 1 (2019-2020). Lean is an approach to continuous improvement which is commonly used in manufacturing. It drives efficiencies in ways of working and provides benefits, saving time, money & effort. This project aims to look at how Lean could be applied to the benefit of the farming sector.
